Volunteer: Kids Team

“Serving on the Keswick for Kids team with an amazing group of dedicated people wanting to share the love of Jesus with young ones has been a real highlight”

What Will I be Doing?

You will be:

  • teaching children the Bible – following the same teaching as the adults  
  • getting to know a small group of children and caring for them
  • getting stuck into loads of fun games, crafts and activities that support the Bible teaching
  • participating in team meetings, times of preparation, prayer and worship
  • cleaning up the venues after each session – preparing them for the next session
  • possibly supporting with other teams as needs arise
  • assisting with whatever is needed behind the scenes

What Skills and Experience do I Need?

You will need to:  

  • have lots of enthusiasm for teamwork  
  • have a desire to communicate the gospel appropriately to the respective age group
  • be interested in encouraging and building up children and young people
  • be able to draw alongside individuals
  • be lively and enthusiastic! 
  • have recent experience of working with children
  • have a good level of spoken English
  • be ready to support other teams if/when a need comes up

When and Where Will I be Working?

  • You will be on duty each day during the week. We do try to factor in some rest time each day in the afternoon.
  • You will be expected to arrive in time for a briefing meeting on Saturday afternoon, and leave on the following Saturday morning.
  • The Children’s and Youth venues are located in various rooms within the Pencil Factory buildings.

Please consider applying for the 2025 team. Applications will open in Autumn 2024.

Volunteers are required to: 

  • be aged 18 years or older, (aged 20 or older for the Youth Team)
  • be a committed Christian who is regularly attending and active in a local church 
  • be able to complete an online application and provide details of 2 referees – one who must be a leader within your church. Neither can be related to you.  
  • if asked, able to obtain a clear Enhanced DBS check for Keswick Ministries 
  • confirm their agreement to and abide with the Keswick Ministries beliefs, values & code of conduct

Full-time volunteers will receive:  

  • free accommodation  
  • three meals a day  
  • reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
