A crèche with TV relay is situated at the rear of the Main Tent. The crèche will be open for the morning Bible Readings and during the Evening Celebrations. Parental supervision is required at all times. Baby changing facilities are provided in the crèche and in the Ladies and Disabled toilets at the Skiddaw Street site.Becoming a Keswick Partner

Bookshop
Wesley Owen provide our bookshops during the Convention weeks. You will find them on Skiddaw Street, along from Reception and at the rear of the Main Tent, and in the Earthworks tent on the Rawnsley site. A selection of books will be reviewed in our Handbook and books will also be recommended from the platform.Children
Parents will need to complete a Registration Form and register their children before they can attend K4K. Registration Forms are available from Reception and at the K4K venues. If your children are at K4K and you are attending the meetings at Skiddaw Street, please do sit in the parent’s area in the Main Tent (which will be marked on the Site Plan in the Handbook) so that you can be contacted easily if needed. If you are attending K2 (the 18-30’s track in Week 2) please be aware that the timings of the meetings are different and you will need to miss some of the session to collect your children.Keswick Ministries’ official photographers will be taking photographs for use in our publicity – please let the Children’s Team Leaders know if you do not wish your child to be photographed.
Cycle racks
Cycle racks are situated around the Skiddaw Street site.Disability
The curbs to the left (Reception end) of the Convention Centre on Skiddaw Street have been lowered for the convenience of wheelchair users. For health and safety reasons wheelchair users are asked to follow the advice of the stewards regarding the appropriate seating area.
Disabled drivers can apply for a permit that enables them to park in Brackenrigg Drive to the rear of the Skiddaw Street site. However, a parking space cannot be guaranteed. These permits cannot be used in any of the town car parks.
Dogs
For health and safety reasons only assistance dogs are permitted in the tents and meeting venues.Earthworks
Earthworks is our mission exhibition – and much more – based at the Rawnsley site.Getting around
The Convention runs a minibus service for those needing extra help getting to meetings, but most people opt for a good brisk walk from Rawnsley to the Main Tent at Skiddaw Street. There are plenty of town car parks for those staying outside Keswick and parking is also available on the Rugby Ground during the three weeks.Giving
The Convention is only possible because of the generosity of our supporters. There will be opportunities to give to support our work at the morning Bible Readings and Evening Celebrations (this ensures that day visitors have an opportunity to support our work); or you can call into Reception at any time. Please do make use of the Gift Aid facility if you can – this increases the value of your giving to us by 25p for every £1. For more information on supporting our work, giving by standing order, and becoming a Keswick Partner please click here.Handbook
This is your essential guide to Keswick 08 – everything you need to know about the event so you can make the most of your week in Keswick and plan where to go and what to do! Available on your arrival from Convention Reception or Keswick Moot Hall Tourist Information.Health, Safety and Security
Please keep your belongings with you at all times and don’t leave bags lying around where they might be a hazard to others. Please note that moving lights, flashing lights and “haze” effect may be used at some meetings. Please do take notice of any requests from the stewards. Their job is to look after the health and safety of all conventioners. The Convention is advised on security issues by the Christian Police Association.
Hard of Hearing
A loop system operates in the centre of the Main Tent, and at the majority of the Seminar Track venues. Those wishing to benefit from the provision of signers are invited to sit in the designated area in front of the platform.Learning difficulties
Prospects run a program of Special Celebrations for adults with learning disabilities during Week 2.Local Relations
Please be a good example to the people of Keswick when moving around the town, particularly when leaving the site at night. Please try to keep to the footpaths and respect residents’ need to move their cars in the streets around the Convention Centre.Location of meetings
Keswick is unique in that the whole event is run within the town of Keswick, using not only our Skiddaw Street and Rawnsley sites but other local venues and churches too. Rawnsley (a 15 minute walk from Skiddaw Street) is where the Youth programme have their own marquee and the older children from K4K Kids Club meet. Full site plans and town maps can be found in the Handbook to help you get acquainted with where things happen.
Main Tent
The stewards have little control over the temperature within the tent, which is largely dependent on the prevailing weather! The centre of the tent can become very warm, and leaving the tent doors partially open allows air to circulate. This also means that the areas around the edge of the tent can become cooler. You might like to have an extra layer of clothes when sitting at the sides and rear of the tent!Mobile phones & pagers
Please make sure that all phones and pagers are silenced or turned off during meetings.Parking
Regular visitors will know that parking is one of our perennial challenges. There is restricted parking in the streets around the Convention Centre for residents and their guests only. Please help us to be a good witness by honouring our request not to park in this area.
We would encourage you to park at the Rugby Club ground, or one of the other town car parks, and use our minibus service which runs 45mins before and 30mins after the morning Bible Readings and Evening Celebrations.
A pass can be obtained from Reception to allow cars into the restricted area on Skiddaw Street to drop disabled passengers off outside the Main Tent. Please also note that disc parking is in place in some areas of the town.
Photography / Recording
Taking photographs, video or audio recordings during the meetings is prohibited for copyright reasons. We have official photographers for the duration of the Convention. Audio and video recordings are made by ICC, and can be obtained from their sales point at the Convention Centre, or after the event by post – ICC, Silverdale Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN20 7AB.
