Make a Donation

Since it’s beginnings in 1875 the Convention has depended on gifts and donations to meet the costs of the event rather than charging registration fees. We feel this is the right approach for the Convention and we have never been disappointed by the Lord’s provision, through His people, to cover all the costs.
You may be surprised to learn that the Convention has an annual budget of some £900,000. This includes the cost of putting on the event, accommodation for all the team, running the children’s and youth events, organising missionary support, advertising and promoting the event and all the administrative work beforehand! As well as this is the ongoing maintenance of the buildings and equipment. We do raise a small amount of income from the premises after the Convention but we still need large sums of money by way of gifts to cover the expenses. We estimate it costs about £65 per person per week.

Your giving is vital to the ongoing work of Keswick Ministries. Every gift, however small, really makes a difference to us and to all those who benefit from the Convention each year and there are a number of ways in which you can give:

  • Standing Order – this assists the Treasurer who then has the knowledge of regular income flow: it eases administration in the office in not having to process cheques, and also frees you from having to remember to send off your donation! Giving by standing order automatically makes you a Partner.
  • Cheque or charity voucher – made payable to Keswick Convention Trust and sent to Keswick Ministries, Skiddaw Street, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 4BY.

Gift Aid

If you pay tax in the UK, then Gift Aid is a simple way to increase the value of your gift to a charity. Making your donation using Gift Aid will enable the charity to reclaim the basic rate tax on your gift to them. This means that if you give £10 to charity using Gift Aid, that gift is worth £12.50 to the charity (based on reduced rate of basic rate tax effective from April 2008). The charity can only reclaim the basic rate of tax if you have paid enough tax for the tax year to cover the amount reclaimed on your gifts.
